Milwaukee lost one of its greatest photojournalists, Harry T. Kemp in 2011at the age of 78. The Wisconsin Black Historical Society and the Kemp family birthed "Harry Kemp Day" in honor of Kemp's influence on the community and the state of Wisconsin with his work and dedication, but also this day is used as an opportunity to network, display great pieces of work, and lastly highlight other Milwaukee Photojournalist and photographers. Most importantly give individuals an idea of what the life of a photojournalist is all about.

This year's event was held at the Wisconsin Black Historical Society on August 22, 2019
